Hi! We're Millie and Kallie Rao
(and friends)...

When we were younger, our parents would take us to museums every weekend. At the time, we lived on Capitol Hill, which is very close to all of the Smithsonian Museums, so it was easy.

We remember some of our favorite exhibits like the archaeology discovery stations in Human Origins at the Museum of Natural History or the Make a Stamp at the Postal Museum. We wish more museums had things like this that help kids learn.

In the past few years, we had the exciting opportunity to help test ideas for museums in Washington, DC through the design companies working for them. We have helped test exhibits at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and the Military Women's Memorial. Recently, we helped our dance teacher test exhibits for a pop-up exhibit she created for called Dancing in Pixels and shown at the Longview Gallery.

Helping all of these museums and exhibits was so much fun! But what was even more exciting was how much the designers said we changed the exhibits for the better.

That's what led us to create Test Lab DC. We hope we can help influence exhibits at many museums so other kids can enjoy learning like we do!
